Spendo Privacy Policy

Summary

Spendo is a local-first budgeting app. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. All transactions, budgets, categories, and preferences live on the device. Spendo does not transmit, sell, share, or collect any personal data.

Data Stored On Device

Stored locally in the app's private storage (SQLite + AsyncStorage):

  • Transactions, budgets, categories, subcategories
  • Language, currency, theme, and onboarding state

This data never leaves the device unless the user explicitly exports or shares it.

Device Permissions

  • Files / document access: requested only when the user picks a JSON file to import or shares an exported JSON file. Handled through the platform document picker and Share sheet.
  • Camera: not used. Spendo does not request the camera permission.
  • Microphone: not used. The Android RECORD_AUDIO permission is explicitly blocked.
  • Photo library: not used. Spendo does not request the photo library permission.
  • Location: not used.

Network Use

Spendo does not make network requests at runtime. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDK, and no remote configuration.

Data Collection

  • Data collected by developer: none.
  • Data shared with third parties: none.
  • Tracking: no.
  • Third-party advertising: no.
  • Analytics: no.
  • Crash reporting: no external crash reporting is configured.

Manual exports through the Android Share sheet are user-directed actions. Once the user shares an export with another app or service, that destination handles the data under its own policies.

User Controls

  • Users can export all their data as JSON from Settings → Data.
  • Users can import JSON from Settings → Data.
  • Users can remove all app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage in Android Settings.

Children

Spendo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

Changes to this policy will be published at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
